365 things to do in Wagga #29 Urban Harvest Fruit & Vegetable Swap
Tried your hand at growing your own fruit and vegies and have an over-abundance of produce coming out of your ears? Are you in a pickle and plum out of ideas on what to do?
The Urban Harvest fruit and vegetable swap is just what you need.
Hosted the first and third Saturday of each month at Wesley Mission Wagga Wagga, the Urban Harvest swap gives you the chance to swap your excess produce for food you may not be able to grow yourself.
And if you have any leftovers at the end of the day, they can be donated to the Uniting Church Ministry, who distributes “Helping Hand” food packages on a weekly basis to local families in need.
So if you’re going bananas about your bananas, and everything is looking pear-shaped, head to the Wesley Complex this Saturday February 4 from 8.00am – 9.00am to swap your load. Plus, it’s a great chance to network and trade growing tips with fellow gardeners (we love wagga).
When: First and third Saturday of the month, 8.00am – 9.00am
Where: Wesley Complex, 19 Johnston Street, Wagga Wagga
Note: This is strictly a swap-only event. Produce cannot be bought or sold on the day.
