365 things to do in Wagga #32 – Learn to fly
Ever looked to the sky and wondered what it would feel like to soar through the clouds like a bird? The freedom and sense of wonder you would feel as the air whipped past you?
Now you have the chance to earn your wings with Wagga Air Centre. Extend your horizons and take off on one of the greatest adventures of a lifetime – learn to fly.
A “Recreational Licence” will give you access to the Light Sports Aircraft Industry and will allow you to fly an aircraft up to a maximum take-off weight of 600kg.
A course of just 25 hours, plus the flight examine at the end is all it takes. Well, that and the fact that you must be over 15 years and have the capacity to hold an Australian driver’s licence. You can learn at your own pace and convenience, and once licenced, can hire an aircraft from the Centre and fly wherever your heart desires (within the country of course).
For those that are too chicken to take to the skies, you could always join the Wagga Air Social Club. Not only is it a great way to meet new people, you’ll be invited to a number of barbeques, seminars of aviation and free movie nights.
So what are you waiting for?
