To help you make the most of your high tea experience, we’ve gathered some helpful hints on what not to do when following true high tea tradition.

High Tea Etiquette
-    Do not slurp your tea. Ladies don’t slurp. And if you’re not a lady? Fake it. Sip ladies, sip!
-    Creating whirlpools in your tea when ‘stirring’ it is not becoming.
-    Don’t wave or hold your tea cup in the air. You might think it looks stylish, but you’re wrong.
-    The purpose of your cup is to hold your tea. The purpose of a spoon is not. Do not sip your tea from the spoon.
-    Never combine lemon and milk with your tea. What has this got to do with etiquette you ask? Well, when your milk curdles, it is highly advisable not to gag and attempt to pour it back into your milk jug sloshing it all over the table in the process. That behaviour does not maketh a lady.
