365 things to do in Wagga #36 – Cricket for a cause
It’s not uncommon for most people these days to have been affected by some form of cancer, whether themselves or via someone they know.
With such a high percentage of people being diagnosed each year, and the number steadily rising, it’s vital to arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible and to spread awareness.
Having witnessed the effects of cancer firsthand, the Local Area Command (LAC) division of the Wagga Wagga Police Force are hoping to spread awareness and raise funds for the New South Wales Cancer Council by hosting a social cricket day for the community.
The Wagga LAC Cricket Bash will be held on Sunday March 15, 2012, at Bolton Park in Morgan Street. Everyone is encouraged to come down on the day and enjoy a great game of cricket while supporting this worthy cause.
Donations can be made at the Wagga Wagga Police Station on Tarcutta Street, or at the Wagga Wagga Cancer Council office in Thompson Street.
